In my 20 plus years of being an Advisor, reading and interpreting Tarot, I have found that the most important aspect to consider with any card and any spread is to understand that it is a personal relationship between you as the Querent and myself as the Advisor. We build a bridge towards one another through the initial question or questions, and then as the reading progresses through the information that you share, confirms the direction that we follow for your personal journey.
It is a personal, deep connection, revealing much detail and direction about your energy and how you would want to resolve your deep inner concern about a particular situation.
During our Tarot reading session, I am able to see what is personal to you pertaining to the question you have in mind because your question ties into your energy and transfers to me, and when I give you the reading, you receive my interpretation. Very often, aspects that you may not have been aware of are revealed to you and you also experience my energy transfer.
It is this energy transference that creates a personal psychic connection between the Advisor and the Querent.

The most important aspect of tarot reading is its layout and how the energy flows along with each card. One can almost say that tarot card spreads are like leylines. Leylines are electromagnetic energy that flows in harmony with the earth's layout. The way the land is lies as you see it.
How things go from here is similar, as it always represents a reveal of as above so below.
This means that what is the foremost in your mind, spirit or emotions is revealed in the cards. The same goes for what is in the world, the leylines reveal what is in the field of the earth also.
Tarot cards, or divinatory imagery, extends as far back as the human race. We are naturally energetic, highly spiritual and constantly evolving from one spectrum to the next. From our earliest existence, Ancient Spiritual advisors, Priests or Medicine Women were using symbols and imagery to understand and get a deeper meaning of the world around them or to interpret fellow travellers or advice seekers, the inner world of the soul’s journey. And at times they were consulted by the leaders for guidance such as when to move to a high land or more fertile lands or who may win a war.
Think of the Egyptians or the Bushmen in South Africa, the great Nazca Indians, carefully etching or drawing on the walls in pictographs and later hieroglyphs, using the materials that they had at the time. They would transfer the knowledge into visual imagery and symbolism to reveal the messages and guidance that was being given to them from the spirit world for the others around them to understand more easily or to make a particular statement that would stand the test of time for other travellers who would one day travel past these images. Essentially, all of the traditional tarot cards were based on and made use of these ancient esoteric symbols and imagery.
The message is clear - Imagery is naturally inherent in human civilization. The Universe talks to us through images.
How to Read your Tarot
It is advisable to cleanse your area when you use your cards in the same way you would wash your hands before you eat.
One can light candles, smudge, or use incense, perhaps doing a prayer would be advisable also. Calling one’s spirit guides to take part in the reading is another excellent aspect to consider.
Having a calm, emotionally relaxed state is needed when one asks the cards a question, perhaps even shuffling the cards while thinking of the question is another way of expecting some connection being made with you.
The energy of your soul speaks through an image or symbol and it lies with the tarot reader to interpret the information and convey it to you, which can sometimes be difficult or sometimes it just flows.
“We are all able to interpret symbols or images if we allow ourselves to relax, breathe deeply and to come into a more intuitive state. We all dream, don’t we? Therefore, do we not also dream in images too?"
There is Energy Transference in your Question
Before you start reading the tarot, the deck is carefully shuffled. When you are done, you will feel a deep sense of, "NOW", hold the cards and think about the question.Feel the energy lift and a stronger vibration coming through, this is called transference of energy, allowing the transference to fill you and your mind so that you are able to tap into the tarot card spread and the question in mind.
Tarot card spread size matters, sometimes…
Large spreads are more detailed
As a Querent, it is important to understand that the deeper the question, the larger the spread. Using a greater number of cards can give a very in-depth reading.
“However if you are a beginner, keep it simple.”
A big spread is extremely heavy as it carries a large body of information or energy in it. It goes to show that the bigger the spread, the more connection there is within each card. All the cards, generally, in a spread influence each other and this should be taken into account.
Small spreads more direct
A small spread is more direct in its energy, more singular in its meaning, and can oftentimes be like laser focus with all the energy concentrated in one place.
As an advisor, I would say that a 10-card Celtic cross gives you everything you need for a full, soul journey reading.
Another personal favourite of mine is the five-card spread,.As seen below, it is more adapted towards the daily living experiences, deep diving into the current situation, tasks at hand or solutions, new challenges, overall strength, and the ideal outcome for the person right now. Keeping it all current and present in the progression of life right now.
There are also a number of predefined online tarot spreads available on Kasamba as well as a large section of Tarot Advisors who are very skilled in the reading and interpreting of tarot readings.
I highly recommend connecting with your favourite Tarot Psychic reader online.
The perfect spread
The perfect spread depends on how long and entailed an answer you seek.

This is excellent for short, clear directive answers, indicating a more focussed and to the point reading as said above. Again this is entirely up to you!
Three card spreads
These spreads indicate past, present and future reads. It is also very handy to have when you are doing a short,to the point along with some element of time indicated. Seeing how a situation unfolds over a time period.
